POSSIBLE MARRIAGE: From the IGI there are
numerous John Gills married in the area--of course John Gill is one of the most
common names in
THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMM: Note that
mother Grace Herrington's sister Ann married Samuel Lambert of Ripon 19 Jan
1761. Samuel Lambert was a Cordwainer. Our John Gill is known to be a
cordwainer--was he apprenticed to Samuel Lambert? No apprenticeship record
found, but when an apprenticeship happened within the family records were
rarely kept of that apprenticeship.
