Street in the Borough of Kingston upon Hull Master Mariner deceased do hereby
make this my last will and testament [in] manner and form following that is to
say I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid by
my executors hereinafter named as soon as may be after my decease I Give and
bequeath unto William Locking of Number 50 Fountain Street in the Borough of
Kingston upon Hull aforesaid, Proprietor of Patent Medicine and David Mercer of
Number 48 Walker Street in the same town tanner, their executors and
administrators All my moneys in the Bank and elsewhere and else all my Books
Wearing apparel trinkets and other my Personal effects said moneys that they
shall pay the same with the accumulation thereof / if any / to my adopted child
Sarah Elizabeth Simpson Haller / now an infant of the age of thirteen years
residing with me / the daughter of Smith and Sarah Ann Haller of Kingston upon
Hull aforesaid on her attaining the age of twenty one years or upon marrying
with my consent whichever shall first happen And upon trust that my said
trustees shall in the meantime invest the same moneys upon mortgage or other
good security to accumulate at Compound Interest But in case she shall die
under the age of twenty one years and unmarried then I direct my said trustees
to pay all the same moneys and accumulations over to her Sister and Brother
Mary Simpson Haller, and Anthony Haller, in equal shares and proportions
absolutely on their attaining twenty one years of age and to respective
executors administrators and assigns And as to my Books Wearing Apparel
trinkets and my other personal effects I direct my said trustees to hand over
and I hereby give and bequeath the same to the said Sarah Elizabeth Simpson
Haller for her own absolute use and benefit I give and devise unto George
Thomas Metcalf of Forbes Station Holt County Missouri in the United States of
North America, farmer, the only son of George Thomas Metcalf late of Kingston
upon Hull aforesaid, Tailor, deceased All those my four messuages tenements or
dwellings situate at Tynemouth in the County of Northumberland with the
outbuildings yard ground and appurtenances thereunto belonging in the several occupations
of Thomas Embleton and others and all other my real estate whatsoever and
wheresoever / if any / To hold the same and every part thereof unto and to the
use of the said George Thomas Metcalf his heirs and assigns forever I bequeath
unto the said William Locking and David Mercer the sum of five pounds each
absolutely as a mark of my respect and esteem for them and in consideration of
their taking upon themselves the trusts of this my Will And I appoint them the
said William Locking and David Mercer trustees and Executors of this my Will
and hereby revoking all other wills by me at any time heretofore made do
declare this to be my last will and Testament In Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my Hand this eleventh day of July one thousand eight hundred and
seventy one.
Signed and delivered by the said Elizabeth Simpson the testatrix as and for her
last Will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her
request present at the same time and in the presence of each other have
hereunto subscirbed our Names as Witnesses
