70: "In the Name of God Amen I thomas Turner of Eppleworth in the County
of York Yeoman being of sound mind and disposing memory praise be God but
mindfull of my mortality Do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in
manner following first and principally I recommend my Soul to Almighty God my
maker hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ to be received into Glory and
as to my worldly Estate I Do Dispose thereof as
Follows Item I Give and Bequeath to my Son Thomas Turner
five shillings in full of his Legacy to be paid within six months after my
Decease Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Jeremiah
Turner the Sum of three pounds and a Red [looks like] Brocht whye three years
old in full of his Legacy Item I Give and Bequeath unto
my Daughter Frances Burn five shillings in full of her Legacy to be paid within
Six months after my Decease Item I Give and Bequeath to
my Daughter Ann Turner the Sum of five pounds to be paid within Six months
after my Decase Item I Give and bequeath to my Daughter
Elizabeth Turner the Sum of Ten pounds Item I Give to my
Daughter Mary Turner the Sum of Ten pounds Item I Give
and Bequeth to my Son William Turner the Sum of Ten pounds and it is
my will if any one of my three younger Children Die before the age of one and
Twenty Years that the Survivors to have their Legacy Divided or in Case two of
them Die before that age of one and Twenty then the longer liver [?] to have
all their Legacies Lastly all the rest of my Goods and Chattels
after my Debts and funeral Expenses are paid I Give and Bequeath to my loving
wife Ann Turner Whom I make full Executor of this my last will and Testament
and I Do hereby revoke all other wills. In Witness here of I have
hereunto set my hand and Seal this Sixth Day of June and in the fourteenth year
of the reign of our Soverein King George the Second and in the year of our Lord
one thousand Seven hundred and forty two. Thomas Turner his

Thomas Turner was buried 12 Jun 1742. See his notes for his
will, located in the Exchequer Court
of the Archbishop of York, Registered Will Copies; page 70; FHL film
099709. This will was proved 15 Feb 1742/1743; source: Archbishop of
York, Exchequer Act Book vol 4D, Harthill Deanery 1724-1751; FHL film 100034:
"The fifteenth Day of the month aforesd [February 1742, which in the old
date style follows June & December 1742] the last will & Testa~t of
Thomas Turner late of Eppleworth in the Diocese of York Dece~d passed the Seal
of this court being first proved before the Rev~d John Clark Clerk
Surrtee And Adm of his Goods etc was granted to Ann the Wife of
Francis Harrison his Relict & Sole Extrix in the Will named being forst
Sworn before the sd Surrte / Saving any other person's Right / No Inven~ was
exted but Bond is entred." It will be noted that Ann Edgehill
Turner married her 2nd husband Francis Harrison 21 December 1742, after the
death of her 1st husband 12 June 1742 and before his will was proved in 15 Feb
1742/43.
