He was born February 26, 1909 in
He married Elda Jane Hill November 12, 1930 in Manti.
Virgil was a farmer and for many years had a trucking business. He attended
Gunnison Valley Schools. He participated in activities and positions in the LDS
church. He was also active in Community Affairs and served as Mayor of Fayette,
Virgil is survived by his children and spouses: Lucille and Ronald Robins of
Sandy, Utah; Jean Christensen of Eugene, Oregon; Connie and Charles Nielson of
Los Angeles, California; Weldon and Sharon Christensen of Salt Lake City;
Roland and Julia Christensen of Fayette, Utah; eight grandsons: Lynn and Brian
Robins, Eric Nielson, Darren, Nathan and Thayne Christensen, Troy and Jason
Christensen; seven granddaughters: Nancy Reid, Sally Carter, Debby Chase,
Carrie Deardarff, Vicki Carlson, Shauna Sisneros and Danielle Taylor; 26 great-grandchildren and
four great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one
great-granddaughter. Virgil was the last surviving child of a family of 10
children born to the late Joseph C. and Roxie Bartholomew Christensen. His
brothers and sisters to precede him in death are: Harold, Roxie Irene, Royal,
Milton, LaFaun, Ruth Ellen Hansen, Myron, Marvin and
Don.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000 at 12 noon in the Fayette
LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Fri. evening 7:30-9 p.m.
and Sat. morning from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in
the
