BOWN - In Fayette, Sanpete County, Dec 31st, Sarah Dack Bown, the beloved wife of Levi Bown. She was 24 years old, and the mother of three children, the youngest 10 days old. She was a devoted wife, and a true and affectionate mother, and beloved by all who knew her.

GONE TO A BETTER WORLD - Elsewhere appears a notice of the death on the 31st ult., at Gunnison, Sanpete County, of Sister Sarah D. Bown, in the 25th year of her age. She was a devoted wife and mother and was respected by all who knew her. Two days previous to her demise she exhorted those around her to be faithful and true to the Gospel. Before she departed she was permitted to see through the veil, and in vivid language described the beauty of the place she was going to. She also gave directions for the minutest details of the funeral, and the dressing of the remains. She besought her friends not to grieve for her, as she knew she was going to a place of great joy.

1930_US_CENSUS: In the 1930 census Ada is enumerated in TWO households. Note the difference in the two records. Even her age is different:

If the Ada above is our Ada, whre are her dependent children? She had a 2 year old in the 1920 census. Search reveals that ter children are enumerated in the household of one of her married daugthers. And ADA herself is counted in the same household.

It could be that the Ada D. in the household of David Christensen in 1930 is a different Ada, but the record is pretty clear that this David Christensen married this Ada Dell Bown. This would not be the first time a person was counted in two households in the census, nor would it be the first time that a person gave conflicting information in the census. Perhaps what we're seeing in the 1930 census (his children in one household, her children in another, and her in both households) is a sign of the failure of the marriage. Maybe she was in the process of moving during the days that the census was being taken? Anyway, the submitted records of the Ancestral File and the IGI have him marrying Mary Gundersen in Nov 1932. When David Christensen died in Jan 1944, his death certificate listed his wife as Mary F. Christensen. Ada died in May 1958. She was buried as Ada Dell Bown Bartholomew, with no mention of David Christensen in the burial record.
