DEATH-BURIAL: records of Jill Sheffer; her source: Obituary- Isaac S. Brown, The Daily Herald, Provo, Utah, 13 Dec 1960. "Prominent Springville Man Dies Near 90th BirthdaySpringville - Isaac S. Brown, well-know Springville citizen, died Monday afternoon at his home, 135 S. 1st East., of causes incident to age, the day after celebrating his 67th wedding anniversary. He would have been 90 years old on Dec. 21. Mr. Brown was born Dec. 21, 1870 in Springville, a son of Edward R.S. and Mary Ann Taylor Brown. He received his education in the public schools of Springville and in the old Hungerford Academy.He was a member of the first Volunteer Fire Department organized in Springville, and was a charter member and one time president of the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Brown recalled that one of the most memorable experiences of his life was going at the age of six to the funeral of Brigham Young. Mr. Brown had known every president of the LDS Church with the exception of Joseph Smith. In church activities, he had served under 14 bishops. He was Sunday School superintendent 11 years, chairman of the genealogical society, stake missionary, counselor in the YMMIA and Elders quorum, and ward clerk of the Fourth Ward for many years. He married Emma Elizabeth Metcalf at her home in Gunnison on Dec. 11, 1893, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They celebrated their 67th anniversary Sunday. They were the parents of eight children, seven of whom survive, Guy Brown, Bird Brown and Mrs. Leo (Lola) Weight, all of Springville; Paul Brown of Provo; Mrs. Spencer (Clara) Nielson of Spanish Fork; Glen Brown of Wendover and Jesse Brown of Kemmerer, Wyo.; 30 grandchildren, 44 Great grandchildren. And three great, great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Springville LDS Stake House, under the direction of Bishop Leonard James. Friends may call at the Wheeler Mortuary Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday prior to services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery."

"SPRINGVILLE, Utah County - Emma Elizabeth Metcalf Brown, 95, 655 E. 12th South, Springville, died July 15, 1969 of a cerebral hemorrhage, in a Payson hospital. Born April 12, 1874, Gunnison, Sanpete County, a daughter of Anthony and Sylvia Sanford Metcalf. Married Isaac S. Brown, Dec. 11, 1893, Gunnison. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He died in 1960. Relief Society secretary and visiting teacher; member of the DUP; American Legion Auxiliary; president of the old religion class, which later became the Primary.
Survivors: sons, daughter, Guy E., Bird R.S., Jesse A., all of Springville; Paul a., Provo; Mrs. Spencer (Clara) Nielsen, Spanish Fork, Utah County; 34 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Carl (Jane Ann) Nielsen, Murray.Funeral services Friday, 1 p.m., Springville Stake House. Bird Reynolds Brown, lifelong resident of Springville, died on April 2, 1995 at the home of his daughter in Smithfield, Utah. He was 95 years of age. He was married to Mabel Clair Clark September 24, 1919 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Brown; a son, B. Ronald Brown, Springville; a daughter, Lois Weaver, Smithfield; and a sister, Clara Neilson, Spanish Fork.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 8, 1995 at 11 a.m. in the Hobble Creek Stake Center, 555 So. 600 East, Springville. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. or Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 So., Springville. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Military Rites by VFW.
