I.   MATHEW PEARSON, of . . . . in the Isle of Ely, came first into Yorkeshire and resided in Cleveland. He had issue--

II.   JOHN PEARSON, of . . . . in Cleveland ; mar. Jane, daughter of Francis Philips of Maske (Marske) in. co. Ebor. They had issue--

              1.     Mathew Pearson of Kilham in co. Ebor.,
                      of whom there is noe issue remayning.

              2.     William Pearson of Mircaside in Cleveland.

              3.     Thomas (III). 

III.   THOMAS PEARSON, of Harpham, in com. Ebor., gent., 9o Jacobi, died in ao 1641 ; mar. Margaret, daughter and sole heire of . . . . . Philips of Maske (Marske) in co. Ebor. widow of . . . . . Salvein of Newbiggin in co. Ebor. They had issue--

              1.     John (IV).

              2.     William Pearson, of Besingby in co. Ebor. Named in his brother John's will.

              1.     Alice, wife of Samuell Buck of Holmeton in Holdernesse.

              2.     Catherine, died unmarried.

IV.   JOHN PEARSON (PEIRSON), of Lowthorpe in com. Ebor., Esqr., now one of the Justices of Peace in this county, œt. 76 on 31 Aug. ao 1665 ; died 3 Nov. 1665. M.I. (Lowthorpe, Yorks. Arch. J. xii, 222). Will 30 Oct. 1665, pr. at York (Reg. Test., xlvii, 369) ; mar. Elizabeth, daughter of John Pearson of Moulthrop, in com. Ebor. (remar. Richard Legard, barrister ; lic. 1666. Will 10 Jan. 1679-80, pr. at York 12 June 1682. Vol. lix). They had issue--

              1.     Mathew (V).

              2.     John, œt. 11 ann. 1665. Named in his father's will.

              3.     William, œt. 5 ann. 1665. Named in his father's and mother's wills.

              1.     Sarah, had £1,000 in her father's will ; mar. Thomas Carter, Lord
                      Mayor of York. She d. 15 Apr. 1708, æt. 58. M.I. at St. Martin's,
                      Micklegate, York. (Drake's " York," p. 172).

              2.     Frances, had £900 in her father's will.

              3.     Anne, had £800 in her father's will ; mar. William Walker, LL.B. ;
                      she d. æt. 25, 19, bur. 21 May 1687 at Belfrey's York. M.I.
                      (Drake's " York," p. 342).

V.   SIR MATHEW PEARSON (PEIRSON), of Lowthorpe, œtatis 14 ann. 31 Aug. 1665. ? Knighted 2 June 1669. Will, 1 Feb. 1711-12, pr. at York 22 Mar. 1711-12 (Reg. Test., lxvii, 439) ; mar. Elizabeth, dau. of Mallory Legard, of Troutsdale ; lic. 1668. They had issue--

VI.   WILLIAM PEARSON (PEIRSON), Esq., of Lowthorpe, ? d. s.p. Will, 21 June 1716 (Reg. Test., lxxii, 55), left Lowthorpe to his brother Richard ; mar. Susanna . . . . .
